GE Vernova has been selected by Power Grid Corporation of India (Powergrid) to supply more than 70 extra high-voltage transformers and shunt reactors for major transmission projects across India. The 765 kV class equipment will support infrastructure for renewable power evacuation under India’s Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) framework.
The scope includes supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the equipment. Manufacturing will take place at GE Vernova’s power transformer facility in Vadodara, India. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2026 and continue through to the end of 2027. The order was secured through GE Vernova T&D India, part of GE Vernova’s Electrification business in India.
