Huisman has received a contract from Hanwha Ocean for the design and construction of a 2,600mt Leg Encircling Crane (LEC). Hanwha Ocean, formerly Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, has now awarded Huisman its third order of this type, following two identical cranes for wind turbine installation vessels being built for Cadeler.
The scope of supply covers design, engineering, and construction of the crane at Huisman’s production facility in Zhangzhou, China. Commissioning is scheduled for 2027 at Hanwha Ocean’s shipyard in Geoje, South Korea.
